Chris, a Wisconsin native, discovered Pilates after realizing the stresses of his job were taking an affect on his overall health. He found Pilates was a movement practice that allowed him to build a stronger body and sound mind, improve posture and health, develop deep strength and grasp a new awareness of the body. Chris was classically trained through The Pilates Center where he learned from Master Pilates Instructors with a direct lineage to Joseph Pilates, the founder of this movement method. Chris leads a challenging but personalized lesson with the goal of returning each body to its optimal state of health. His belief is that everyone is capable of doing Pilates and should. “You are in charge of elevating the health of your mind and body,” Chris says. “Celebrate your body by moving it as it should move!”

Chris is also an experienced Reiki Master Teacher, providing healing sessions for clients and workshops for those who would like to pursue practicing the art of Reiki in their lives.

Certified Pilates Instructor

Chrissy has been an avid Pilates student for 10 years and an instructor for 3 years. She was first introduced to Pilates through studying dance, and instantly fell in love with how her body felt after a session: strong, relaxed, and balanced. She tends to focus on flexibility, flow, and breathing during Pilates sessions so that her students leave feeling taller, stronger, and maybe a little sweatier! She has certification in mat technique through Power Pilates and equipment training through Peak Pilates. Although she is classically trained, she is always eager to try new techniques and go deeper. Chrissy is also passionate about dance, singing, and riding her bike around the city. She believes that Pilates is one of the key ingredients to living a healthy lifestyle and maintaining a strong and balanced body. She is excited to share her knowledge and love of movement with all of her students.

Maxine discovered GYROTONIC® while studying dance at Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet BFA Program at Dominican University of California, taking both GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® classes as part of her education. Training under master trainer Debra Rose, she completed her final certification in May 2017.

Since graduating from Dominican, Maxine has relocated back to her hometown of Chicago to pursue a professional dance career. In addition to teaching GYROTONIC®, she is currently dancing with Cocodaco Dance Project.

Maxine is passionate about the healing and rejuvenating power of movement, and the innate knowledge our bodies hold. She believes that GYROTONIC® is perfect for all bodies, no matter what movement background. She is excited to be teaching at Chicago Center for Body Movement to continue gaining knowledge about the body and sharing that with others.
